a bathtub surround. and one of the best toolsthat steve uses, one of the most convenient tools that he uses to cut tile is an anglegrinder equipped with the right blade. let me show you those blades right now.so the blade that we like best is dewalt’s xp4 blade. this is for a 4 â½â€ angle grinder.this is a continuous rim blade, meaning it’s not rough. you could also use dewalt’s xpextended 450x blade. now this is a turbo ring, but it’s a little bit different that ithas serrations on it. you can actually use this to cut concrete, brick, tile, other masonrymaterials. it’s an awesome blade. but if you want to get a smooth cut on tile, we recommendthe xp4. so you can cut ceramic, porcelain, granite, slate, you name it. this is an awesomeblade.

so how do you switch out the blade on an anglegrinder? and which way should you install it? there’s an arrow on most angle grinders.you can see it here. and by the way, this is fein’s wsg7 angle grinder.so this arrow should also correspond with the arrows on your blade. so that means thati should probably flip this over, right, because this arrow needs to be going in the same direction?so there’s a little retaining nut for your angle grinder. just take the blade off, andwe want the blade to face towards us. now this little retaining nut has two differentsides to it. you want the flat side to go flush with the blade. there’s also a lipon it. you don’t want that for this type of blade. this lip here is for inserting grindingdiscs. but you want the flat side to be flush

with the blade. there’s a little buttonon this grinder. so you just press it, turn the blade until it stops, and then you tightenit down. so now i’m going to show you how to cutthrough this piece of ceramic tile using an angle grinder and xp4 blade. one safety tiphere: make sure you wear eye protection when using a grinder. good thing.now some people like using the wheel guard; some people don’t. it’s your personalpreference. but this is a nice, safety feature on grinders. so just hit the power button.and you can see how that grinder just chewed right through this tile.all right, so there you go. those are some quick tips on how to use an angle grinderto cut tile. now let me know what you think

down in the comments. would you feel comfortableusing this? do you have any other tips and suggestions that i missed in this tutorial?now this is a very quick tutorial. this wasn’t meant to be exhaustive or anything. i justwanted to let you know about this tool and the different blades that go along with it.so please keep that in mind in your comments down below.that’s it for today. if you want to see an angle grinder in action and how we tilea shower surround on the plumbing wall, you can watch this video right here. that’sa great video if you’re wanting to learn how to tile a shower, and you’re worriedabout the plumbing wall. that’s it for today. thanks so much forwatching the video. take care, and i’ll
