check! from the '80s, vintage. my wheel house for vintage is '30s, '40s, '50s, the thing that would be in your grandmother's attic. reporter: you brought great examples, can you find them in your grandmother's attic or

other places? it's small business saturday go to a flea market, an antique shop. all these plays are filled with vintage christmas, too. reporter: thrift stores, too? absolutely.

reporter: can you mix modern and vintage, or should you go all the way vintage? i mix because as much as i'm a purist, i am practical. i use new lights to light my tree. you brought examples this tree reminds me of my

grandmother. we have one like that that we put out from my grandmother. i love that. that's the best thing about vintage. we talk about these people. this was my strand mother's and she had one like this.

display on stands, or how do you display these? i actually play the dvds every year. you're playing them as well. and watch them, but i always put the miracle on 34th street book out because it's so sweet and sentimental, and i watched

it on thanksgiving because it starts with the macy's thanksgiving day parade. things like this, records, i still play vintage vinyl, but i'm cooky like that the little drummer boy. who doesn't love the little you can talk to the kids
