24 SINGLE BATHROOM VANITY SET BY LEGION FURNITURE

i'm going to show you how to install a doorhandle. the tools i need is a drill, some drill bits, a tape measure, set square, somesafety gear, a hammer, a wedge, screwdriver, pencil, a really sharp chisel, some spadebits, the actual door handle set itself . . . the instructions are really important to go withthat as well . . . and a sharp knife. to determine the height of where your doorhandle should go, check where the other door handles in your house or read the instructionsthat come with the door handle or you could also go the general rule of thumb which is1050 off the floor. the next step is to mark where the door handle'sgoing to sit on the door. i'm going to use the template provided to mark where i'm goingto be drilling for the door handle. i've lined

the template up with the mark i've made forthe height on the door handle. now i can just simply mark on the template. now i need torepeat the same thing on the other side of the door. the markings from the template are for wherethe barrel will go into the door, and also where the back set of the handle will be.you can determine the back set from either what's currently in your house or just a preferencething on what you prefer. the next step is to drill a hole where we'vemade all our marks. i'm going to use a 2 millimeter drill bit to make a pilot hole before i makethe next step. before you drill, make sure that you're really square when you're drillingin and don't go the whole way through as you

may splinter it. drill a little bit from thisside and then drill the rest from the other. the next step here is to drill a bigger holefor our fixings, but it's really important to check your instructions, as every set maybe slightly different. remember to drill it from each side so you don't splinter the timber.next step is using a spade bit to drill a hole for the spindle. the next step is todrill the hole for the barrel through the metal. this one's really important to haveit nice and square. now that we've drilled the holes the nextstep is to put the latch inside and mark around the face plate so we can chisel it out andthe face plate will be flush with the front of the door. now that i've got that mark,i'll use a knife to cut around the mark, and

then use a chisel just so the face plate willset flush with the door. now that we've chiseled out for the latch's face plate, i'm simplygoing to put a pilot hole, and then just screw it in. now we've got the latch in, the next stepis to put the striker plate on the door jamb. to install the striker plate, i need to maketwo markings first. firstly, i need to make a center mark on where the actual barrel sits, and then i need to put the actual plate next to the latch and i'll mark the top and bottomof that as well. using the center mark i've made, i'm going to drill a pilot hole, andthen use my spade bit to drill a hole for the striker to fit into.

now that we've drilled out our hole, we needto put our striker plate in. i'm just going to mark around it and then chisel it out likewe did with the door. make sure to line these up with the marks i made earlier. now thati've got those marks there i'll use the knife and chisel like before to chisel it out. nowthat we've notched that out i'm going to screw it in by putting a pilot hole and then justscrewing it in. the final step is to put the actual handleon itself. how to work is you have a handle piece on each side and a bolt that runs throughthe middle. but to do this we need to take the rose or face plate off each handle first.this simply just comes off with a bit of pressure and can be pulled off.

the first step of putting the handle on isto put the grub screws in. put the bolt through. the next part is to put your base plate andyour handle on. but before you put your handle, just double check that it's going to turnin a downward motion. once you've got this together with the screw, you can screw theminto your grub screw. now that we've done the handle on this side,we're going to do the exact same thing on this side. but before we begin we just needto take the screws out of these grub screws. and now that's done we're going to put ourbase plate and handle on the same side. i'll tighten both sides with the screwdriver. nextup we just need to screw the top and the bottom of the handle, and then it will go just straightinto the door.

last step is to put the face plates or roseplates on. just simply slide these on and then tighten them with the allen key provided.on this one the hole for the allen key is just at the bottom. just do the same on theother side. just important to note, i've put the door handle on before the door's painted, but you'd take this off once you go to paint it, and when the door's completely paintedyou put the door handle back on. and that's it. that's how you install a door handle.
