these university of louisville students arejust chilling out in their apartment, their brand new apartment with marble counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a blue tooth equipped shower head and when they walk outinto the court yard of their complex this is what they see. i feel like i'm in a resort sometimes, especiallyat night going out and looking out over the pool, i didnt, i wouldn't have thought i wouldhave lived somewhere like this my first year. christy lives at the nine, across the streetfrom campus and one of two new privately owned built and managed apartment complexes foruofl students. the other is the university pointe on campus,it is so different from when my generation
went to college and we don't need to talkabout when my generation was, um but its just different and housing has become a key elementin the recruiting process and it is now an asset to have this type of upscale housing. at the nine residents can get a spray on tan, watch the game on the water proof wide screen tv next to the pool huddle around the firepit if its chilly or even study a little bit down the brightly colored pool deck. at the on campus university pointe studentsfind similar upscale amenities, a beautiful court yard and pool deck, with a hot tun andbrand new furniture and gas grills not to mention the nice apartments.
we have full kitchens, absolutely amazingmarble counter tops, we have a sectional in the living room, a 6 piece sectional couchand it came with all the furniture and everything out rooms are amazing. i think its kind of luxury living for a collegestudent but i appreciate it. im kind of partial to the little retro gamingmachine in there thats got packman on it, its just fun to go down there and play that. but having cool games and fancy study roomsand a pool cost more then a traditional dorm. uofl has 3 of those on campus, double roomswith a bathroom down the hall. a lot different then the new student housing.
i might end up comparing everywhere else thati live to this after being here, its just really nice. all of us take some criticism about studentsare living in kind of a fake high amenity world and then there going to graduate andgo get there first job and not live in this, thats okay, part of the competitive marketplace right now.
