oh, hey. welcome to my living room this is the second video i'm doing in this little apartment series of mine and i would have to say that this room is by far the place that i spend the most time even though i have a little office space behind it, which i'll show you next time i find that i usually come back to the living room to do all my editing and it's for this reason that not only did i want this space to be aesthetically pleasing for myself and guests but i also needed it to be functional. i would say i'm pretty happy with where it is so far there's still some things i'd like to add like maybe some furniture in this area to add some extra seating but for the most part
i'm pretty happy with where things are right now you'll see as i take you on a tour of the rest of the apartment that i have quite a few pieces from west elm such as the lamp, the coffee table, and the couch the palm pillows i've had for a couple years now a lot of people ask me questions about those those are from lulu in georgia and then i later added these blue velvet ones because i kind of wanted to do an homage to my last couch. a lot of people miss the blue velvet couch obviously we get a pop of color with this little footstool that i absolutely love and i love the little bohemian vibe that it adds to the space. the centerpiece of the room really is the coffee table though
and you can see i've kind of created this very sporadic random looking table scape i guess you could call it normally i do like it to look very symmetrical and aligned but i tried to let go a little bit and make it look a little more random and obviously since this is a active functioning space it doesn't always look like this i'll often push the books off to the side, but you will see that oftentimes i use this as a backdrop for flat lays and stuff like that. i just think of it it adds a nice texture and a layering element to the photo i have a collection of little knickknacks kind of spread all over this little bruce figurine was sent to me by a subscriber and also, these coasters were sent to me by a subscriber. i believe from her etsy shop so both of those girls
i will leave linked down below if i can find their links, but it's really sweet i love having them there as little reminders. this beautiful round silver box that i have from my mom is one of i think three different boxes that i have from her but i absolutely love it and again because this is a functioning space this is where i keep spare batteries as well as sd cards and coincidentally these batteries are the ones that i have in my microphone right now because i needed new ones now the inner part of the table is actually hollow so i use it for storage i have these little boxes that i ordered from muji and obviously because i like to sit here and watch tv i like to do my nails or put on masks at times
so i have a little box of all the manicure stuff that i use, and i do clear this out fairly often but right now it's looking a little messy i have little cotton pads, and i've actually been trying out this 100% natural nail polish remover it's oil-based and it works pretty well, it's a little slower than if you were to use something with acetone in it but it's a little easier on the nail. so i've been enjoying it so far. i have kiehl's creme de corps to keep my hands moisturized. this nars nail polish is a really beautiful color but i feel like it does kind of age my hands a little bit i don't know if it's the orange in it and then obviously nails inc porchester square, standard. in the box with all the masks i have a light stem
which is actually like an led light treatment that you can do at home and then i have a bunch of sheet masks. i have these from leaders and solutions, karuna. i'm obsessed with these masks from dr. jart they just are not super wet they stick to the face really well i don't even need a mirror to apply them. and then on the opposite side i have a few books as well as a few crafty items for when i'm doing my bullet journal like pens and pencils and often times i'm just laying on the carpet just doing my thing whatever it is and i do have to say this rug is super comfortable. it is one of the fluffiest rugs i've ever owned, but the downside is that it does shed a lot
i've had it for probably over six months now, and it doesn't shed as often, but when i first got it it was just crazy the amount of fluff that would come off of this thing. my tv stand is actually just a wooden bench that i had made a couple years ago, and i think i might have to upgrade this soon and underneath i keep a couple books stacked so that it kind of holds up my sound bar i especially love this little stack of my shel silverstein books that i've had since i was a kid i keep these because i feel like one day i'm going to hand these down. and fun fact i have
a tattoo on my right forearm that says 'listen as she whispers' and it's a loose interpretation off of a poem from where the sidewalk ends called 'listen to the mustn'ts'' and the poem says listen to the mustn'ts, child. listen to the don't listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts listen to the never haves, then listen close to me anything can happen child, anything can be and for me it's always a reminder to listen to your heart no matter what doubts there might be or what anyone else says my gut and my heart have never let me down i have a few plant children and i have to say this one on the left the elephant ear palm has been growing like crazy
i think this is one of the easiest plants to take care of but it is getting huge it's also one that i find turns to face the sun so i often rotate it so that it'll fill the space and not just turn towards the window. the one on the table is a bird of paradise. it grows a little slower, but it's looking pretty healthy sean palm, i'm afraid, has seen better days i think that he has come down with some kind of sickness and also he might be getting a little too much sunlight i try to keep the blinds down during the day, but he's still kind of hanging on so we'll see how things go i'm trying to treat him extra gently and by the way all the plants ceramics that i have are from madoka
and that pretty much does it for my little living room space guys. thank you so much for watching i hope that you enjoyed a little peek into all the things that i have in here i'll try and link as many things as i can in the info box down below for you guys so be sure to check that out, and i'll see you in the next video. bye
